Learning is a lifelong, continual journey. Supporting learning outside of school enhances children’s experiences and development.
Practising reading, writing and maths on a regular basis will help your child.
Reading
Every child should aim to read four times a week and record this in their reading log.
A record will be kept in school of the number of times that children are reading as this is vital for their learning.
Mathematics
Numbots or Times Tables Rockstar should be accessed as regularly as possible to develop children’s confidence and fluency with number work.
Spellings
Knowing how to spell supports children’s writing skills. Regular reading supports spellings. Every week, there will be spellings to learn which will be tested and practised within the classroom. SpellingShed is an online programme which children have access to through school to support learning of spellings.
Project
Project-based homework is set at various times throughout the year. This is a creative and purposeful way to support learning. Details will be shared on Class Dojo and with your child in class.
Thank you for your support with home learning
