Music
Intent
The power of music can change the way a person feels and so it is important that children are able to use music not only to support their emotional wellbeing but also as a way to express themselves. Learning how to create music benefits children in exploring their creativity and develops their appreciation for music. Performing helps children to develop self-belief and confidence in their own abilities as they perform either individually, as a class or to a larger audience.
Each term will focus on a particular style of music. For example:
Autumn term - Seasonal, classical and traditional styles. Spring term – popular music. Summer term - Musical theatre.
