Intent

Art is a subject in which children should be inspired and be given the opportunity to express themselves using a range of materials and art forms. Children need to understand the ‘culture’ behind Art and appreciate the importance of Art in their lives: both in their appreciation of others’ work and in expressing themselves through art. It should be therapeutic and enable children to practise their developing skills.
