Phonics
Jolly Phonics is the chosen Systematic Synthetic Programme. EYFS and Key Stage One follow Jolly Phonics using interactive resources, direct teaching whole class and small group phonics. All children are provided with decodable readers once they have covered the foundation learning of phonics and these are matched to their exact phonics stage. It is the intention that every child is able to access reading as early as possible in their educational journey.
All children are encourage to underpin their reading and writing in the classroom with their phonics knowledge. Phonics is everywhere!
Children continue their progression through phonics using the Bug Club reading scheme.
Interventions across Key Stage One and Key Stage Two take place for children who need support with phonics and reading.
